Egress Installation Process

From your free estimate to the final interior trim, our step-by-step process shows exactly what you can expect from start to finish when Ohio Egress Guy installs your egress window or basement walkout.

Step 1: Free estimate and onsite evaluation

Full service company, we can do something as simple as an egress steel well to custom walk-outs
Full turn key installation including finishing the trim on the inside of the window or the door
We show a picture book to show you the finished product and have very simple pricing

Step 2: Tread Lightly

Protect the yard with plywood
Haul off all soil and debris
A majority of our projects can be completed in one day

Step 3: Saw Cut Foundation Wall

We wet cut from the outside to minimize dust in your home
Confirm the window or door opening to ensure proper placement, sizing and clearance
Carefully remove the cut foundation section and prepare the opening for framing, anchoring and installation

Step 4: Rework New Opening and Install Window

Masonry anchor treated lumber and add header
Caulk all masonry to carpentry
Embed window nailing flange in caulking
Cover nail flange with flashing tape
Trim outside and reseal

Step 5: Rework Drainage and Install Well

Anchor well to foundation
Backfill
Install ladder or step
Install cover
Post hole dig drain to footer and install 4” gravity drain

Step 6: Interior Finishing

Rework opening and cut back drywall
Install returns and casing to match finished room
Clean up the job site
Final inspection and review the completed installation with the homeowner
